SO MUCH NEWS!!!

Wow! So much going on already this fall!!

September 26th & 27th, our IGP club The Sirius Working Dog Association hosted our somewhat annual trial.

Top row from left to right, Nevr von der Leidenschaft achieved her IGP3. The scores give us much to work towards, but it’s honestly my FIRST IGP3, and achieving it with my Handler Bred Owned and Titled girl is extra special. She had a beautiful Tracking score of 90, squeaked Obedience with a 71, and with too much handler help, her courage and grips still got us a 74.

Smiling proudly with her FPr3 medallion, Fyokla vom Gleinalmblick (Flirt) scored a convincing 80 points in Tracking.

And to her right, her goofy son Rommel von der Leidenschaft achieved his BH title. Rommel has been looking for his forever home for more than a year, so Ron decided to train him while he was still with us. That work turned into the intro IGP title!

As is customary, we took a week off from training to regroup from all the excitement.

AHA! Flirt had other ideas. She decided a week after trial was the perfect time to come into heat! So off we go to Ontario, to meet a boy from Nebraska!!! We had as long as it took to get a tie, it didn’t take long, then Axel and Bruce headed South, and Flirt and I headed East. Zoom zoom!!! PEDIGREE HERE A quick snap of the happy Daddy-to-be before we parted company! 😉

The final photo is of 3 year old Qira, who was returned to us because her owner became ill and was having ongoing mobility issues. She was hard to photograph, having the post grooming zoomies!

October 11, 2026, our first day back to training. Our friends and club members returned from their chaotic summer. I had decided I may as well start doing formal training with Qira while she was with us. I didn’t even get the chance, after spending the day with her, they swooped her up on Thanksgiving morning.
Rommel on the other hand went home with another club member on the Sunday to continue his journey in the sport.
Super excited for these dogs and their new packs. So we are back with our original 3, until (we hope) December 10th, when the T-litter is due!

Anyone interested in this litter is welcome to submit a Potential Puppy Owner Questionnaire! This combination will produce high drive working and sport prospects. We match temperament and drive carefully to new owners. Companion puppies may not be available. Stay Tuned. 🙂

If you place a deposit with us and YOU back out, you lose your deposit. If you place a deposit with us, and we’re not able to select a suitable puppy (REGARDLESS if we have puppies available, REMEMBER we match our homes based on temperament and drive) you can choose to wait for the next litter, or we WILL REFUND your deposit in full.

American Buyers:

Due to the US import regulations not allowing puppies into YOUR country until age 6 months, and due to the incredibly taxing demands on our time, (correctly socializing, house training, crate training, confidence building, manners, etc) we will NOT hold any puppies to go to the US.
We will however consider selling to a US buyer if they/we can find a trusted foster home for the additional four month wait time.
Please understand this is a really hard decision for us, but based on our experience from 2024 it’s the only one we can make.

Our S-litter has arrived!!

Two days early (April 14, 2026) but Momma Nevr and 8 pups are doing well so far.
We have 5 girls and 3 boys.
We have one male pup available for a sport or working home. No additional Companion pups available at this time.

Puppies Expected!!!

A photo from our Q-litter!

On Thursday, February 12th we mated our own Nevr von der Leidenschaft IGP2 to our German import Zeus vom Goldbergsee (three x) IGP3. This will be our S-litter, due on April 16, 2026.

This is a repeat of our Q-litter, with several pups already titling.

We have taken all the Companion Puppy deposits we’re willing to take until such time the litter is showing us their personalities. We are still accepting applications for working/sporting homes. The link to the mating is here: S-litter von der Leidenschaft

SOLD!!

Proving to be “too much dog” for his previous family, 15 month old Rommel von der Leidenschaft came back to us. He’s been with us since June 2025 and has had extensive training in manners, obedience, and developing his bite drive and control for working dog sports.

Rommel achieved his BH with Ron on September 26th, 2026, and moved in with a club member on October 11, 2026. He will continue his training with our club.

Next Mating Plan, Spring 2026

For a variety of reasons, we have decided NOT to breed a litter in 2025, but do plan for Spring 2026. The Dam will be our Nevr von der Leidenschaft IGP2 and stud will be our German Import Zeus vom Goldbergsee IGP3. This is a repeat of our Q-litter. All owners are super happy!

Canadian Buyers:

We will be accepting deposits on this litter in advance of the mating. This is to ensure we have enough Canadian buyers (due to US import regulations, 6 months old) to send puppies to at 8 weeks old. If you place a deposit with us and YOU back out, you lose your deposit. If you place a deposit with us, and we’re not able to select a suitable puppy (REGARDLESS if we have puppies available, REMEMBER we match our homes based on temperament and drive) you can choose to wait for the next litter, or we WILL REFUND your deposit in full.

American Buyers:

Spring 2025

Winter is so close to being done!

If the sun, the moon, and the stars align, this is our S-Litter plan for the fall of 2025. Fyokla (call name Flirt) just finished her spring heat, so we expect a mating COULD take place in September 2025.

We NEED Buyers OUTSIDE of the USA for this litter to go forward!

This statement has nothing to do with tariffs and everything to do with the CURRENT (as of March 18, 2025) CDC import regulations. As we experienced in 2024, we were unable to export our puppies to our US buyers until they were six months of age. This created a ton of extra work, and for our US buyers, the loss of the puppyhood stage of their pups. We simply can not repeat those conditions. So, if you are interested in a puppy from this combination expect to put your deposit down when you are approved.

US Puppy Buyers

To our would-be US puppy buyers, please contact the CDC and your American Kennel Club to let them know how this negatively impacts your opportunities to import well bred purebred dogs from Dog-Rabies Free and Low Risk countries, such as Canada. As things are right now, we would ONLY keep ONE puppy to go to a US family, and it won’t be cheap. We are deeply sorry to have to do this, but we simply can’t take on the work load of more than one puppy.

July 2023 News

Poof! Just like that, we’ve gone from birth announcement to 9 weeks old!! We have three beautiful girls still waiting for their perfect match. All of our puppies come with health guarantee, CKC issued microchips, complete vaccinations as is age appropriate, deworming, CKC registration, and of course a lot of positive exposure and socialization. Black Girl, now called “Que”

Que is big and bold! Lots of confidence and drives. She would suit a sport/working home, or an active/experienced companion home.

Baby Boo has been our littlest from the start, but you won’t know that by looking at her now, or by her demeanour. She is bold and beautiful. Confidence galore! Blue would suit a sport/working home, or an active/experienced companion home.

Green Girl, now called “Quest”

From day one Quest has been our investigator. She would climb high up on Nevr’s side, always going over instead of around. She is sassy, outgoing, and a wee bit independent. The world is her oyster. She would suit a sport/working home, or an active/experienced companion home.

We are very pleased with our selections for the remaining Q’s.

In birth order:
Purple Boy is named Quinto. He is being trained as a dual purpose dog, drug detection and protection.
Green Boy is named Quake. He is in an active, loving family home in charge of neighbourhood watch and his three young girls.
Purple Girl is named Quigley. She is being trained for the sport of IGP.
Red Boy is named Quincy, but called Danté. He is being trained for the sport of IGP.
Red Girl is named Qira. She is in an active home and will be personal trainer to her uncle Leon.
Black Boy is named Q-Tyr, called Tyr in honour of Canada’s first Giant Schnauzer Police Service Dog. He is also in charge of three young girls in his household.

We are looking forward to interacting with our families and watching another generation of Von Der Leidenschaft Giants grow up.

Congratulations to SWDA members on their new titles!

Our small club The Sirius Working Dog Association held our two-day trial on October 5 & 6, 2019.
With DVG Judge Ann Dolan, we tried 5 BH titles and one IGP 1 title on the first day.

Obedience Classes Starting Soon!

Ron Murray will be starting classes in both Fredericton and Oromocto, beginning Tuesday, May 14th and Thursday, May 16th.

These six-week courses are Level 1 obedience, and for all dogs aged 5 months and up.
The basic premise of Ron’s program is respect based obedience, followed immediately by verbal and physical praise when the exercise is done correctly. Ron has never been one to use gadgets, gimmicks or food, believing instead that one always has a voice to speak with and hands to pat with.

Three 5-month old pups still available.

Lazer, Leia, and Loca complete with nicknames 😉 are still waiting for their forever homes.

These three pups are fully vaccinated, microchipped, registered with the Canadian Kennel Club, are fully crate trained, and house socialized. They are started in tracking, obstacle training, dumbbell work, and prey bite work. Their teething process is almost done so more bite training will commence in the coming days.

They all have great personalities, and high levels of confidence and environmental soundness. No weak nerves here!

This litter, along with their older K-litter siblings, are CLEAR of DCM (Dilated Cardiomyopathy) by parentage as confirmed by DNA tests through the OFA.
