Two days early (April 14, 2026) but Momma Nevr and 8 pups are doing well so far. We have 5 girls and 3 boys. Potentially we have one pup available for a sport or working home. No additional Companion pups available at this time. Pedigree is here: https://www.working-dog.com/…/von-der-Leidenschaft-322300
On Thursday, February 12th we mated our own Nevr von der Leidenschaft IGP2 to our German import Zeus vom Goldbergsee (three x) IGP3. This will be our S-litter, due on April 16, 2026.
This is a repeat of our Q-litter, with several pups already titling.
We have taken all the Companion Puppy deposits we’re willing to take until such time the litter is showing us their personalities. We are still accepting applications for working/sporting homes. The link to the mating is here: S-litter von der Leidenschaft
For a variety of reasons, we have decided NOT to breed a litter in 2025, but do plan for Spring 2026. The Dam will be our Nevr von der Leidenschaft IGP2 and stud will be our German Import Zeus vom Goldbergsee IGP3. More details can be found here: https://www.working-dog.com/breed/von-der-Leidenschaft-59403/planning This is a repeat of our Q-litter. All owners are super happy!
Canadian Buyers:
We will be accepting deposits on this litter in advance of the mating. This is to ensure we have enough Canadian buyers (due to US import regulations, 6 months old) to send puppies to at 8 weeks old. If you place a deposit with us and YOU back out, you lose your deposit. If you place a deposit with us, and we’re not able to select a suitable puppy (REGARDLESS if we have puppies available, REMEMBER we match our homes based on temperament and drive) you can choose to wait for the next litter, or we WILL REFUND your deposit in full.
American Buyers:
Due to the US import regulations not allowing puppies into YOUR country until age 6 months, and due to the incredibly taxing demands on our time, (correctly socializing, house training, crate training, confidence building, manners, etc) we will NOT hold any puppies to go to the US. We plan to keep a bitch puppy from this litter and will not take on any additional puppies during that time. We will however consider selling to a US buyer if they/we can find a trusted foster home for the additional four month wait time. Please understand this is a really hard decision for us, but based on our experience from 2024 it’s the only one we can make.
If you’re interested in a puppy, please complete our Potential Puppy Owner Questionnaire. Once we have accumulated enough interest, we will vet potential owners, including references. Be prepared to place a deposit if you are approved.
If the sun, the moon, and the stars align, this is our S-Litter plan for the fall of 2025. Fyokla (call name Flirt) just finished her spring heat, so we expect a mating COULD take place in September 2025.
We NEED Buyers OUTSIDE of the USA for this litter to go forward!
This statement has nothing to do with tariffs and everything to do with the CURRENT (as of March 18, 2025) CDC import regulations. As we experienced in 2024, we were unable to export our puppies to our US buyers until they were six months of age. This created a ton of extra work, and for our US buyers, the loss of the puppyhood stage of their pups. We simply can not repeat those conditions. So, if you are interested in a puppy from this combination expect to put your deposit down when you are approved. You can apply for a puppy here: Potential Puppy Owner Questionnaire
US Puppy Buyers
To our would-be US puppy buyers, please contact the CDC and your American Kennel Club to let them know how this negatively impacts your opportunities to import well bred purebred dogs from Dog-Rabies Free and Low Risk countries, such as Canada. As things are right now, we would ONLY keep ONE puppy to go to a US family, and it won’t be cheap. We are deeply sorry to have to do this, but we simply can’t take on the work load of more than one puppy.
WOW!!! How has it been 5 months since my last post?!?
R-litter von der Leidenschaft
We are happy to announce our R-litter von der Leidenschaft will be arriving May 28th, give or take a day. The sire is our own Khaos von der Leidenschaft BH, GPr1 and our Austrian import Fyokla vom Gleinalmblick BH, FPr1, IBGH1 (aka Flirt). This is a first litter for both, so it’s going to be interesting times to say the least. Both have very strong temperaments, high drives, and sound nerve. I expect the puppies will best be suited to working/sport/experienced homes.

If you’re interested in a puppy from this litter, please complete our Potential Puppy Owner Questionnaire. Stay tuned for news and an update on x-ray day, Friday May 24th.
Poof! Just like that, we’ve gone from birth announcement to 9 weeks old!! We have three beautiful girls still waiting for their perfect match. All of our puppies come with health guarantee, CKC issued microchips, complete vaccinations as is age appropriate, deworming, CKC registration, and of course a lot of positive exposure and socialization. If you are interested in applying for one of these beauties please complete our Potential Puppy Owner Questionnaire.
Thanks so much to Leshelle at Silver Fox Photography for this fun photo shoot. I hope you’ll agree the results are GORGEOUS!
Black Girl, now called “Que”
Que is big and bold! Lots of confidence and drives. She would suit a sport/working home, or an active/experienced companion home.
Blue Girl, still deciding on her perfect name!
Baby Boo has been our littlest from the start, but you won’t know that by looking at her now, or by her demeanour. She is bold and beautiful. Confidence galore! Blue would suit a sport/working home, or an active/experienced companion home.
Green Girl, now called “Quest”
From day one Quest has been our investigator. She would climb high up on Nevr’s side, always going over instead of around. She is sassy, outgoing, and a wee bit independent. The world is her oyster. She would suit a sport/working home, or an active/experienced companion home.
The rest of the Q’s.
We are very pleased with our selections for the remaining Q’s.
In birth order: Purple Boy is named Quinto. He is being trained as a dual purpose dog, drug detection and protection. Green Boy is named Quake. He is in an active, loving family home in charge of neighbourhood watch and his three young girls. Purple Girl is named Quigley. She is being trained for the sport of IGP. Red Boy is named Quincy, but called Danté. He is being trained for the sport of IGP. Red Girl is named Qira. She is in an active home and will be personal trainer to her uncle Leon. Black Boy is named Q-Tyr, called Tyr in honour of Canada’s first Giant Schnauzer Police Service Dog. He is also in charge of three young girls in his household.
We are looking forward to interacting with our families and watching another generation of Von Der Leidenschaft Giants grow up.
Lazer, Leia, and Loca complete with nicknames 😉 are still waiting for their forever homes.
These three pups are fully vaccinated, microchipped, registered with the Canadian Kennel Club, are fully crate trained, and house socialized. They are started in tracking, obstacle training, dumbbell work, and prey bite work. Their teething process is almost done so more bite training will commence in the coming days.
They all have great personalities, and high levels of confidence and environmental soundness. No weak nerves here!
This litter, along with their older K-litter siblings, are CLEAR of DCM (Dilated Cardiomyopathy) by parentage as confirmed by DNA tests through the OFA.
We are happy to announce our girl Lexi von der Leidenschaft, aka Blue Girl is heading to Manitoba in April. We’re excited for the adventures she will have.
Still available are brother Lazer, and sisters Leia, and Loca.
15 week old Lazer, aka Purple Boy, is a happy, outgoing puppy with excellent confidence and prey drive! He is happy to play tug with plush toys, jute sacks, and old cuffs. Or, he’ll take you by the leg or arm if that’s all that’s available! 😉 His crate training is well underway and he is happy to eat his meals in it, and settle down quickly for the night. Lazer is a good sized pup with plenty of coat and a nice ear set. He’s very responsive and will suit a sport/competition home or an active family. Video is readily available on Instagram @leidenschaftkennels or on our Facebook page!
Lazer also has two sisters (Lexi is SOLD) to approved homes. These pups have had kennel cough and will have their 3rd boosters and their rabies vaccinations next week. They are beginning crate training and house socialization as well as daily adventures outdoors. They are ready to go.
Congratulations to our 15 month old puppy, Kwest von der Leidenschaft BH, FH-V!! So grateful to her humans, Ted and Lani Cooper for the amazing effort they’ve put forth in her training. Lani and Kwest have only been training together for 9 months! What a great team!
For those not familiar with our sport, IGP (formerly known as IPO or Schutzhund) 15 months is the minimum age a dog can enter competition. Kwest was JUST 15 months at the end of February. The BH title is the gateway to the sport of IGP, no dog can compete in anything further without first achieving the BH. The actual title is “Begliethundeprufung” and it translates to “Companion examination”. It is an examination of the dog’s stability of nerve and temperament, basic on and off leash obedience, and a traffic test which includes exposure to vehicles, bicycles, joggers, crowds, and many other distractions. Lani and Kwest achieved this title at a trial in El Paso, Texas on March 22, 2019.
The next day they attempted and achieved the FH-V title, a tracking title, in very tough conditions! Not just dirt, but dirt freshly spread with manure! Of the five stand alone Tracking titles only Kwest and one other were successful! The FH-V track is the same length as an IGP 3 track! It is 600 paces long, and aged at least ninety minutes. There is no cross track at this level, but there are 5 legs, with the last turn being an acute angle. This track is laid by the handler and uses the handlers own articles. By the time Kwest and Lani got to their track, it was 2 hours old under a hot sun!
GIANT Congratulations on a job well done! ?????
