M-litter – 6 wonderful weeks old!

Gulp! I can’t believe in just two more weeks almost all of these beauties will be heading to their new homes! We are still determining which pup will go where. There are a lot of amazing drives, and definitely some dominant attitudes in this litter, so it’s really important for us to get it right!

Below, in birth order are a couple of photos of each pup (taken with cell phone) and current weights as of today. I will hold off on commenting about their personalities for now as these are so far just observations in the litter, not as individuals. I know you’re all excited to find out which one is yours, but it’s still too soon to tell.

M-Litter von der Leidenschaft! Born January 16, ’20 ~ 6 males, 4 females.

Two days early, but we managed to pull together to get ‘er done! ๐Ÿ™‚
Beginning early evening on Thursday, January 16, 2020 in to late afternoon on Friday, Momma Rogue delivered us a beautiful litter of 10. Six males and four females are all doing well after a full 24 hours.

This is a three-peat of our wonderful K & L-litters. Offspring from those two litters are already earning titles in working sports, including a few BH (temperament/obedience) titles and some advanced tracking titles. At least one of the K-litter will be competing in IGP1 (formerly Schutzhund and IPO) this winter.
One of the L-litter is training in police work, specializing in bomb detection.

This combination has also produced some of the most amazing companions/family guardians for singles, couples, and families. The feedback we get from our buyers assures us, our breeding program is definitely on the right track.

There is a great deal of interest in this litter already, we are in the early stages of screening, and securing homes right now. Some are return buyers, pre-approved, and some are trusted friends known for many years. A few are new to us with background in police and k9 work. We have not promised the entire litter yet, but we are reserving some pups for those who’ve expressed interest in the recent past.

Temperament and drives are the deciding factors when selecting homes for any of our litters. If you’re on the reserve list it’s because we need to see (in the coming weeks) if any of this litter will be suitable for your needs. It doesn’t benefit anyone (least of all the puppy) if we can’t make a good match for your wants/needs. Please be patient with us as we make that determination.

Ron Murray with Zeus vom Goldbergsee, BH
Ron Murray with Rogue vom Klingsgarten, IGP1

On day two, we had two successful tracking teams:

Congratulations to everyone and looking forward to a few more weeks of training before the S-word arrives! ๐Ÿ˜‰

May-June 2019 News!

The end of May and the first few days of June have been a busy time for our canine pack! We are pleased all the news is HAPPY! ๐Ÿ™‚

On May 27, 2019 we took our youngsters to see world renowned Ophthalmologist Dr. Cheryl Cullen for their CAER (Companion Animal Eye Registry) eye exams. Khira von der Leidenschaft (co-owned with Stephen and Alyssa Lanyi), Zia vom Lindelbrunn, and Zeus vom Goldbergsee all received CEAR certification. This is one more step cleared for inclusion in our future breeding program.

On June 1, 2019 after a sudden inquiry of the puppies, we determined a suitable home for our princess Leia. She has gone off to be a loving companion and home protection dog for a couple in Nova Scotia. We are happy with the match, and wish her the best life! <3

And last but certainly not least of this month so far, our boy Glock von der Leidenschaft IPO3 celebrates his 10th birthday today! We wish his siblings who are still with us, a very happy 10th birthday, and remember those who have crossed the Bridge.

Still available from our L-litter are:
Loca von der Leidenschaft – sport/working home only
Lazer von der Leidenschaft – preference is sport/working home or experienced active home.

There is still a lot of June left, so stay tuned for more news coming soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

March 2019 News ~ Brag Alert!

Congratulations to our 15 month old puppy, Kwest von der Leidenschaft BH, FH-V!! So grateful to her humans, Ted and Lani Cooper for the amazing effort they’ve put forth in her training. Lani and Kwest have only been training together for 9 months! What a great team!

For those not familiar with our sport, IGP (formerly known as IPO or Schutzhund) 15 months is the minimum age a dog can enter competition. Kwest was JUST 15 months at the end of February.
The BH title is the gateway to the sport of IGP, no dog can compete in anything further without first achieving the BH. The actual title is “Begliethundeprufung” and it translates to “Companion examination”. It is an examination of the dog’s stability of nerve and temperament, basic on and off leash obedience, and a traffic test which includes exposure to vehicles, bicycles, joggers, crowds, and many other distractions.
Lani and Kwest achieved this title at a trial in El Paso, Texas on March 22, 2019.

The next day they attempted and achieved the FH-V title, a tracking title, in very tough conditions! Not just dirt, but dirt freshly spread with manure! Of the five stand alone Tracking titles only Kwest and one other were successful!
The FH-V track is the same length as an IGP 3 track! It is 600 paces long, and aged at least ninety minutes. There is no cross track at this level, but there are 5 legs, with the last turn being an acute angle. This track is laid by the handler and uses the handlers own articles. By the time Kwest and Lani got to their track, it was 2 hours old under a hot sun!

GIANT Congratulations on a job well done! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฅ‚

Featuring Lexi von der Leidenschaft

14 week old Lexi, aka Blue Girl, has some serious drives and a little a$$titude, and yet, she is a dream to work with. The siblings have made a game out of removing her collar, it’s happened twice, so we’ve gone with a different style collar now. Each time we need to put it on, she sits so calmly. She’s very responsive and will be reserved for a sport/competition home.
Sorry to post so many photos, but she’s just THAT good! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Video is readily available on Instagram @leidenschaftkennels
or on our Facebook page!

Lexi also has two sisters and a brother available to approved homes.
These pups have had 2nd vaccinations and kennel cough. They are beginning crate training and house socialization as well as daily adventures outdoors. They are ready to go.
